- with a margin or bleed or partial bleed

Criteria for the message;
- positive inspirational quote...hopeful, uplifting, encouraging, motivational, helpful
- message that would benefit students younger than you

Your Inspirational Poster Layouts must have the following:
.
- a suitable Image... with REFRENCES! ...small & discreet eg.6 pt font.
- text should be divided into two parts: nice big TITLE & paragraph text
.
- all text must be legible (you can read it) text
- choose suitable font: appropriate style/look... easy to read
.
- use of good color scheme... eg. limit your colours... choose your colours wisely/thoughtfully
.
- consider the ELEMENTS of design... direction, line, shape/form, texture, pattern, tone/value, etc.
- consider the PRINCIPLES of design... balance, unity/harmony, contrast, emphasis/focal point, variety/repetition
.
- originality, thoughtful, creative, unique
.
- your full name & block... small and discreet: eg. 6 pt font

Graphic Design

Graphic/s = visual representions on a surface (eg. paper, canvas, web page etc);
Design = the planning, arrangement of elements/parts of composition to achieve a desired effect (eg. to communicate a specific message;


TODAY's Graphic Design Challenge:


1. Read about Framing, Bleeds, Margins, and Image & Text in layouts.


2. In a multipage 8 1/2 x 11" CorelDraw Document, try out the following types of layouts:
- image & text on with a margin
- image & text in a layout with a bleed
- image a text in a layout with a partial bleed
Try the text...
- in a CONTRAST COLOUR, DOMINANT to the image, SUBORDINATE to the image
- large and small
- put the text on a low contrast image
- put the text in a box, bar or transparent colour field on top of a high contrast image

- a simple photo (the same one for each layout)
- the following quote:
